Tim-Bor (Timbor) Insecticide is a wood preservative that protects buildings and furniture from termites, powderpost beetles, carpenter ants, and other wood destroying insects. It has a long lasting residual and can be applied as a dust, foam, or liquid with no resistance. As soon as insects try and consume the wood, they receive a lethal dose of insecticide, as Timbor is absorbed into the wood grain.

Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate 98%, marketed as TIM-BOR Professional, can be applied as a liquid solution to various wood structures, including decks, fences, steps, sheds, barns, and other outbuildings. These structures must be protected from excess rain. For wood with drier than normal moisture content, apply two applications of a 10% solution to the wood surfaces using a brush or spray. On wood with normal moisture content, apply one application of a 15% solution to the wood surfaces using a brush or spray.

To use Tim-Bor, the user must mix 1.5 pounds of the product with 1 gallon of HOT water. This solution can then be applied to the desired wood surfaces.
